"Meyer cites lines of evidence [for a Creator] from cosmology, physics, and molecular biology. But, the surviving New Atheists object, science must “reject the idea of a designing mind because no such entity can be directly observed.” Q: Is that some sort of scientific first principle?
A: Not at all, as is also becoming clearer:
