Who wrote Quantum Mechanics’ Rules?

"In an essay for Aeon, astrophysicist Adam Frank focuses on the
mystery of consciousness, not evolution. But the objection would seem to be no less powerful there.
Materialists appeal to physics to explain the mind, but in modern physics the particles that make up a brain remain, in many ways, as mysterious as consciousness itself.

When I was a young physics student I once asked a professor: ‘What’s an electron?’ His answer stunned me. ‘An electron,’ he said, ‘is that to which we attribute the properties of the electron.’ 
That vague, circular response was a long way from the dream that drove me into physics, a dream of theories that perfectly described reality. 
Like almost every student over the past 100 years, I was shocked by quantum mechanics, the physics of the micro-world. In place of a clear vision of little bits of matter that explain all the big things around us, quantum physics gives us a powerful yet seemingly paradoxical calculus.
With its emphasis on
*probability waves,
*essential uncertainties and
*experimenters disturbing the reality they seek to measure,
quantum mechanics made imagining the stuff of the world as classical bits of matter (or miniature billiard balls) all but impossible.
Like most physicists, I learned how to ignore the weirdness of quantum physics. ‘Shut up and calculate!’ (the dictum of the American physicist David Mermin) works fine if you are trying to get 100 per cent on your Advanced Quantum Theory homework or building a laser. 

--But behind quantum mechanics’ unequaled calculational precision lie profound, stubbornly persistent questions about what those quantum rules imply about the nature of reality — including our place in it.

Those questions are well-known in the physics community, but perhaps our habit of shutting up has been a little too successful. A century of agnosticism about the true nature of matter hasn’t found its way deeply enough into other fields.

Some neuroscientists think that they’re being precise and grounded
by holding tightly to materialist credentials.
Molecular biologists, geneticists, and many other types of researchers — as well as the nonscientist public — have been similarly drawn to materialism’s seeming finality. But this conviction is out of step with what we physicists know about the material world — or rather, what we don’t know."

Lesson from the Snowflake

The physical laws that govern the universe are tightly wound by mathematics. For example, the "fine structure constant alpha" is set at 1 over 137.035999 and the ratios of masses of fundamental particles at 1836.152673. 
--If alpha were off one way by 4% stellar fusion could not happen and carbon based life would not exist. If off less than 0.1% the other way then no place in the universe would be warm enough for life.
--So too is the Moral Law of God. It is a tightly wound law. When one deviates from it either way its called sin. But Christ made a way for mankind to escape and start over. We can look to science and math and see God.

*When we look at science and math, we see the Macro-universe (the big) governed by Einsteins theory of relativity. A set of defined laws that govern things.
*When we look at religion, we see God's Law that governs mankind.

*When we look at Quantum mechanics, micro-universe (the small)
such as at the atomic level-we are surprised to see chaos, or better yet, randomness.

*When we look to religion, we see that at the personal (micro) level, He grants us the same thing-its called FREE WILL. Thats why we have a deviation from His tightly wound laws, because sin entered by the choice of Adam and Eve to deviate.

Look at the snowflake. When certain physical laws happen-it produces snow. Yet NO two snowflakes are alike. The path of randomness they take while floating to earth carves each one into a different individual snowflake. So too with us. Freewill carves each of our characters by choices we make. Of course, freewill is a step above the randomness of the snowflake, as man is above the snowflake in Creation-but I think you get the point.

Strange Metals

And though I .... understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; ...and have not Love, I am nothing.

Are these
Strange Metals, likely a clue to how Black Holes (batteries of solar systems?) work --a peek into how the Creator runs His systems on a large scale? It all boils down to Mathematics.

"Even by the standards of quantum physicists, strange metals are just plain odd.

The materials are related to high-temperature superconductors and have surprising connections to the properties of black holes.
Electrons in
strange metals dissipate energy as fast as they’re allowed to under the laws of quantum mechanics, 
--and the electrical resistivity of a strange metal, unlike that of ordinary metals, is proportional to the temperature.

*
In the quantum mechanical world, electrical resistance is a byproduct of electrons bumping into things. 
*As electrons flow through a metal, they bounce off other electrons or impurities in the metal. 
*The more time there is between these collisions, the lower the material’s electrical resistance.
For typical metals, electrical resistance increases with temperature, following a complex equation.

But in unusual cases, such as when a high-temperature superconductor is heated just above the point where it stops superconducting, the equation becomes much more straightforward.
In a
strange metal, electrical conductivity is linked directly to temperature and to two fundamental constants of the universe: Planck’s constant and Boltzmann’s constant. Consequently, strange metals are also known as Planckian metals.

Quantum entanglements between electrons mean that physicists can’t treat the electrons individually, and the sheer number of particles in a material makes the calculations even more daunting.

The resulting theoretical model reveals the existence of strange
metals
as a new state of matter bordering two previously known phases of matter: Mott insulating spin glasses and Fermi liquids.

We found there is a whole region in the phase space that is exhibiting a Planckian behavior that belongs to neither of the two phases that we’re transitioning between,” Kim says. “This quantum spin liquid state is not so locked down, but it’s also not completely free. It is a sluggish, soupy, slushy state. It is metallic but reluctantly metallic, and it’s pushing the degree of chaos to the limit of quantum mechanics.

Perhaps surprisingly, the work has links to astrophysics. Like strange metals, black holes exhibit properties that depend only on temperature and the Planck and Boltzmann constants, such as the amount of time a black hole ‘rings’ after merging with another black hole. 
The fact that you find this same scaling across all these different systems, from Planckian metals to black holes, is fascinating,”
